In downtown Healdsburg, a once-vacant 9.6-acre site on the site of a former lumber mill, has been transformed into Mill District, a thriving, inclusive community. This vibrant neighborhood includes mixed-income housing, a hotel, community amenities, and public spaces, including a tranquil redwood grove.
At the heart of Mill District stands The Randall, a publicly-funded, 100% affordable housing project. This four-story building houses 41 low-income rental unit flats and townhomes designed to meet the diverse needs of residents. The architectural design combines the grandeur of older apartment buildings with the simplicity of agricultural and industrial structures. With a commitment to sustainability, the project features energy-efficient appliances, and modern interiors, and has central heating and air-conditioning. Common outdoor areas have barbecues and 21 raised garden beds available to residents.
A unique aspect of this project also includes the dust collector, which pays homage to the original lumber mill that existed.
This project’s completion is a testament to our commitment to inclusivity and sustainability in Healdsburg. Mill District is now a thriving community that everyone can call home, inspired by the vibrant surroundings and the sense of belonging it fosters.
